Authorized User Status or Completion of an 80 Hour Course

Requirement 
Applicants must provide documentation that they are either an Authorized User or completed a radioisotope handling and radiation safety course with a minimum of 80 hours.

Document Content and Format

To show Authorized User status, a copy of a current facility Radioactive Materials (RAM) license listing the applicant’s name and expiration date of the license must be provided.

To show completion of an 80 hour course, the applicant must provide a copy of a certificate of completion of a radioisotope handling and radiation safety course with a minimum of 80 hours which included all topic areas required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and dated no more than 7 years prior to the exam for which you are applying.

The 80 hour course can also be established as part of the Preceptor Statement if it was integral to the program (meaning Training Program Delivered.) Training must be a minimum of 80 hours which included all topic areas required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and completed no more than 7 years prior to the exam for which you are applying.
