Certification Board Of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography

Beginning in 2020, the following changes will be implemented to CBCCT Eligibility:

  1. Adoption of the COCATS 4 Task Force 7:

Training in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography Level 2 training requirements (revised 2015) for Cardiology certification applicants, to include a minimum of 250 cases, for which, in a minimum of 65 cases, the physician was physically present and involved in the acquisition, interpretation and reporting of the study.

  3. Phase-out of the Experience Pathway by which applicants met the case requirements for COCATS Level 2 competence in cardiovascular CT through practice rather than in an accredited fellowship or residency training program:
  4. Beginning in 2020, all CBCCT candidates will be required to have formal cardiovascular CT training in a cardiology fellowship, nuclear medicine or radiology residency or advanced imaging fellowship program.

Experience Pathway candidates who sat for the CBCCT certification examination prior to 2020 and who failed will be able to sit in 2020 and 2021 (if needed).
